Why does it take more than one treatment with
a laser? Hair grows in difference phases. Anagen,
Catagen, Telogen. Anagen phase is active hair
growth. This phase lasts several months, and most of our
hair exists in this phase. catagen is a brief phase of hair
regression, where the follicle bulb regresses. telogen is
occurs at the end of the resting phase and results in hair
release, and the subsequent return to anagen. Because of the
different phases, the melanin content in the hair shaft,
follicle bulb varies. Laser hair removal / reduction
depends on the presence of melanin to absorb the laser energy.
